You are a Runner when you were not chosen as the starting Chaser, or when a revive put you back on that side. Your team needs three crossings with nobody left behind.
What you can spend
Gems from the floor and from the match payout buy permanent Runner abilities. Coins from the payout buy one consumable. You cannot pick Coins up off the floor.
| Buy | Reported cost | Why it is in this order |
|---|---|---|
| Pocket Door | 400 Gems | Cheapest Runner ability in the October 6 list. Blocks the Chaser for 6 seconds. |
| Cloak | 1,000 Gems | That guide's top Runner pick. Invisible for 3 seconds, but hits still connect. |
| Emergency Airhorn | 1,000 Gems | Short knockback. Same Gem price as Cloak and ranked lower. |
| Rescue Kit | Coin price not published | One self-revive after a knife hit. |
| Adrenaline | Coin price not published | About 5 seconds of faster acceleration and cornering. |
A separate October 8 compilation also lists Inflatable Decoy at 750 Gems, a decoy that runs straight for about 7 seconds. The October 6 top-three table does not include it. Open the shop and buy the row you can actually see.
Pocket Door's placement is not settled. One write-up says the door appears behind you. Another says it appears in front of you. Both agree on the 400 Gem cost and the 6 second block.
During a crossing
- Accelerate before you need the dash. A standstill dash is not in the Runner key list.
- On crossing one, grab floor Gems while the single Chaser is chasing someone else.
- Stay near other Runners when you are the target. More bodies means more paths for the Chaser to guess.
- Mix a sideways dash with Alt. The coast after a release is readable. A dead stop is not.
- If a teammate is down and E appears, revive them before the next crossing adds another Chaser.
- Save Cloak for breaking line of sight. Running through the Chaser while invisible still gets you knifed.
When you get hit
A knife hit downs you. It does not always have to end your Runner round. Call for a teammate revive, or use a Rescue Kit if you equipped one. The October 6 guide says the kit reverses that down once. If nobody gets you up, you switch to the Chaser side and the remaining Runners have a harder crossing.
